PTV ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ISTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY (ITU)

PTV Group the global market leader in mobility software solutions announced today a partnership with the Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The university will have access to PTV’s latest technological programmes which will be installed in the teaching laboratories and research centres of the university.

Established in 1982, ITU Environment and Urbanisation Application Center is designed to carry out application, research, education and consulting related to the environment, spatial planning and architecture issues. The center is organized into seven units; urbanization; environment, history of architecture and restoration, architectural design, physical environmental control, landscape architecture, real estate research.

The announcement comes following a number of academic partnerships across the Middle East and Africa for the transport software organisation. In the last 12 months, several universities have installed PTV’s solutions which are used in teaching courses for students. We now work with universities in Turkey, South Africa and the UAE.

As part of the partnerships, PTV is providing academic software licenses which are used for teaching purposes by lecturers and researchers. The software company also provides free training and technical support to universities.

PTV Middle East Managing Director, Andrea Petti, said that PTV is committed to helping educate talent across the globe.

He said: “PTV is providing the software for universities across the Middle East and Africa. We’re looking to partner with new universities all the time and invite teaching bodies to get in touch with us as we would like to provide our software to academic institutions across the region.

Head of ITU Environment and Urbanisation Application Center, Prof. Dr. Aliye Ahu Akgun said, “Our center coordinates and contributes to research activities provide collaboration and cooperation with other national and international institutions. The center also provides training and education activities on urban planning as well as environment-related issues. Our protocol with PTV Group is going to facilitate to advance our transportation research and education activities on our labs in collaboration with our academic members specialized in transportation.”
